A mirror may have clearance in a compact at rest and touch the surrounding frame when the lid is loaded. Check the actual assembled lid under a defined load so the comparison can be repeated.

Watch where the gap closes
Record the mirror position, lid angle, and visible clearance before loading. Support the compact the same way for each sample. Apply the agreed load at a defined location, direction, and rate, and observe the edge through the normal range of use. A close-up video or an optical check can help identify first contact. If you use a witness medium, confirm that its thickness and placement do not change the gap enough to create contact.
Record where the gap closes and whether it opens again when the load is removed. Compare several assemblies, including a reference that meets the intended fit. Check mirror seating, the backing, frame position, and lid movement before deciding which feature to change. Keep deliberate support points separate from unintended contact. A flex test locates a possible contact path. Check repeated use or impact separately if either is part of the acceptance requirement.
