An integrated capillary-fed eyeliner pen transfers liquid from an internal supply toward its nib. For a rigid reservoir that does not collapse as liquid leaves, the growing gas space and its pressure must be accommodated by the design. Without suitable gas exchange, an increasing pressure difference can oppose outward liquid flow. This explanation concerns a confirmed rigid-reservoir arrangement; a collapsible reservoir or another delivery architecture requires its own account. A dip-in eyeliner bottle with a removable brush is a different format.

Nib pore structure and pressure balance describe different parts of the system. In a simplified wetting capillary, a smaller effective radius can increase capillary pressure, while smaller flow passages can increase resistance. Actual behavior also depends on wetting, viscosity, path length, pore connectivity and liquid saturation. It is therefore unsafe to say that a smaller nominal pore always dispenses more slowly or that a larger one always produces less controlled flow. A pore-size label does not specify the entire liquid path or its pressure conditions.

If the pressure opposing delivery grows, a pen may become harder to feed even though its nib geometry has not changed. That is a possible mechanism, not a diagnosis of every weak or broken line. Drying at an exposed nib, formula changes and discontinuities in the wetted path can also affect transfer. A useful observation keeps these alternatives separate before changing a component.

Depending on the construction, air and liquid may use a vent, a regulating arrangement, different regions of a porous medium, or another confirmed path. A separate open vent is not a universal requirement. Porex’ public reservoir guidance provides examples of managing liquid retention and gas exchange, including printer applications. Those examples explain the distinction; their vent materials, numerical ratings and release fractions are not specifications for an eyeliner pen. Pressure control also need not mean that internal pressure is always exactly atmospheric.

For an eyeliner packaging discussion with SamBound New Material Technology Company Ltd., whose website is sambound.com, identify the actual delivery format before interpreting flow observations. Compare filled samples with the same formula, preparation, use sequence and environment. Keep temperature, orientation and fill state identifiable, since they can change the gas and liquid conditions. A pore-size comparison becomes meaningful only when the rest of the system is known; neither a catalog photograph nor this general explanation establishes a specific model’s internal air path or performance.
